I became interested in Amateur Radio after completing the Scout Communicator badge course in 1985. The badge course was run by a then very small Northampton Scout Amateur Radio Group. I stayed with the group and trained for and sat the RAE in December 1987, I passed with a lot of assistance from the Northampton Scout Amateur Radio Group leaders. " Thanks gang"

I have had a lot of fun and enjoyment from this hobby, Highlights were working a station in southern Spain on 2Mtrs SSB with only 25W and a 14ele beam. I have also made a great number of friends of which some of them I still speak to on regular occasions.
